The End of the Year

The essay that was most difficult to write was most definitely the Rhetorical Analysis Essay. Finding and identifying the rhetorical devices was one of the most difficult thing we've done all year. I'm also not all too familiar with devices in the first place. It gave me the most trouble on the AP exam for sure.

The easiest essay was without a doubt the Synthesis essay. This is where the skills I picked up in Debate come in handy. I believe the essay was my highest scoring one throughout the year. On the AP exam i breezed through it and finished 10 minutes before predicted time.

Devil in the White City was probably my favorite novel I read, even though it was a summer reading book. The plot with the serial killer provided an interesting twist to the entire story. Without the twist the book would be about Daniel Burnham's struggles as an architect for the Chicago's World Fair.

My least favorite book was probably The Great Gatsby. Even though it's a short book that one can breeze through, it could not hold my interests. I even watched the movie before and after reading the book, and I still did not really enjoy it. As a teenager in the 21st century, the book was too old and classy for me.

Mr.Thomas's class was probably my 2nd favorite or favorite class for the overall year. Being the last class of the day allowed a nice wind down from the previous classes. So Mr. Thomas keep doing what you are doing.
